Producing a Curio or Gun Cabinet with Dental Moldings and a Glass or Raised Panel Door

 

Cultivating Capabilities and Fabricating Cabinetry! A great fifty lab hours of woodworking. A showcase piece to display your curios or gun collection. The class will immerse you in producing moldings of different profiles. Here is the opportunity to learn about methods to build door frames with multiple raised panels and inserted glass. Produce shelves or gun rack inserts and always with the assistance of a trainer to guide you.  *Door Glass Not Included

 

The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.

  • Learn how to produce a double raised panel door
  • Building two boxes of different length and combining them into one piece of furniture
  • Constructing a door that will withstand the weight of glass
  • Producing a Dental molding
  • Creating a base molding
  • Training in gluing up long stock
  • Attaching hardware
  • Hanging various types of doors
  • Leveling a tall cabinet
  • Making shelves or gun rests

 

Class for AGES 16 and UP or with School's Permission

Class # SPI-607

A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Prerequisite is SPI-600, 601, 603 or with consent of the instructor. NO materials or tools needed.

 

The class takes Fifty hours in eight hour blocks of time over a seven-day period. Daily hours may be altered depending on the circumstances.

 

FEES:

Tuition $1,265.00 + Laboratory $290.00 + Materials (solid oak) $147.00 = $1702.00 and you keep the project.
