The class familiarizes you with wood technology, furniture construction techniques, safe machine operation and tool set sharpening.
Class Overview: Producing a Three-Legged Shaker Table
The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.
Interpreting plans
Selecting wood species
Recognizing machining characteristics of selected wood species
Laying out project parts patterns to maximize wood usage
Squaring wood with a Jointer, Surfacer and Saw
Using a Bandsaw to create arcs and circles
Developing curved edges (profiles) with a router bit
Producing flat surfaces on a spindle with a rotary planer
Selecting the correct glue (adhesive) and applying
Learn correct clamping techniques
Choosing the proper sanding paper
Mastering finishes and finishing
Age Restrictions Class for AGES 12 and UP or Instructor’s Permission
Certifications A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Class Time and Information The class takes twenty-four hours in eight hour blocks of time over a three-day period encompassing a Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Days and times may be altered depending on the circumstances.
