Trainers will demonstrate and then guide you through various joinery construction techniques. Then you will learn about furniture joinery and using stationary tools in producing curved and turned pieces.
Class Overview: Constructing a Drop Leaf Table with Four Spindle Legs
The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.
Planning a project
Surfacing wood to the desired thickness while creating two parallel faces
Learning about table aprons and stretchers
Duplicating on a lathe from a template
Creating an arc
Routing a drop leaf table edge
Machining Mortise and Tenon joints
Producing wooden joints
Installing drop leaf table top hardware
Age Restrictions Class for AGES 12 and UP or School’s Permission
Certifications A certificate is awarded upon class completion
Prerequisites
SPI-600, 601
NO materials or tools needed.
Class Time and Information The class takes twenty-four hours in eight hour blocks of time over a three-day period encompassing a Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Days and times may be altered depending on the circumstances.
